Basket Item Number: E 1910.21 from the MAA: University of Cambridge

Description

Simple, tightly woven bucket shaped basket that shows signs of use.; Good

Context

Although the basket is given the provenance of Kwakiutl it is more similar to a Haida basket. It is possible the basket could have been traded by the Haida, or that the provenance is incorrect (G.Crowther). The original European tribal names and, where possible, current tribal names have both been given in separate GLT fields.; Such baskets were made and used by women for collecting berries and other forest matter.
