Description

The catalogue card states, Carrying strap, the band which goes across the forehead of mountain-goat wool dyed and woven with a zig-zag pattern of light wool against darker brown background. The headband has two side lines attached to the cedar bark underweaving which are made from plaited cedar bark and fibre, possibly nettle fibre or cotton.; Good

The catalogue card states the carrying strap was obtained on the coast but made inland probably by Salish . The original European tribal names and, where possible, current tribal names have both been given in separate GLT fields.; The thicker part was worn against the forehead and the side lines were secured around a burden basket or some such container.
