Description

An intact fur skin of a small mammal, about the size and shape of a grey fox. The fur is cylindrical, still in the form of the dead animal, which has legs, tail and head still attached. The underbelly of the animal is light brown, while its uppercoat is dark.; Good

Context

It is possible this pelt was acquired through trade, as indeed pelts were a trade item. Possibly Hepburn collected it as an example of the animal itself, or as an example of the type of pelts traded (G.Crowther).; Collected by: Hepburn.J.E
