Context

On the reverse of the spoon Sitka has been written, possibly as the location of collection, and perhaps of manufacture. The large ladles were usually eaten from by several people, rather like a bowl. Similar to the spoons the ladles were used during feasts and potlatches, demarcating the special from the mundane (G.Crowther).; Collected by: Hepburn.J.E
