Description

A length of coiled rope is attached to a woven harness or bridle with a ?flower motif central decoration from which hangs several plaited tassels. The woven bands which comprise the bridle are decorated with black and light brown weaving. The shape of the bridle is hard to ascertain because it is wrapped in rope.; Good

Context

I am uncertain of the Northwest coast provenance assigned to this bridle (G.Crowther). The original European tribal names and, where possible, current tribal names have both been given in separate GLT fields.; Collected by: Cook.Captain in ?- - 1776; ?- - 1777; ?- - 1778; ?- - 1779.
