Context

The style of this pole leads me to suggest it could be Tsimshian, however without provenance it is hard to accurately assert an identity (G.Crowther). The original European tribal names and, where possible, current tribal names have both been given in separate GLT fields.; The pole is typical of the tourist art carved in 1920' s 30' s, indeed it bears the price of $3.00, possibly added by the carver at time of manufacture, and later reduced to $2.00 (G.Crowther).
