Description

A rattle made of four tubular seed pods, each about 13 cm. long with a 2 cm. diameter, tightly bound together with woven rattan in a loosely wrapped pattern. The tubes have seeds inside. The ends of the tubes are plugged with fibrous material.

History Of Use

Musical instruments used in dancing in the Rupale song and dance type associated with pig kill. Men hold weapons and perhaps a rattle which they slowly shake in time with the tramping.
