A rounded knitted headdress drawn in around the edges on a string. Top has a rounded rectangular panel, 19 x 17 cm, knitted in a ribbed pattern. Ribs have been coloured red and white with ochre and clay.

History Of Use

Part of headdress worn by men on ceremonial occasions. Feathers and plumes of wild parrots, birds of paradise, etc. would be affixed to it.
