Round, coiled basket with foot and split stitching over slat foundation. Imbricated design in light yellow-brown, light red-brown and black of two rows of v-shapes. Light red-brown beading on rim and foot. Rim with bundle foundation is attached by braiding.

History Of Use

Traditionally, baskets were used for a variety of domestic purposes, but starting in the mid-19th century, many basketry goods were made as sale items to provide a source of cash income.
