Flaring, cylindrical coiled basket with a foot. Split stitching over slat foundation and imbricated geometric design on four sides in black and dark red-brown. Black and red beading around the rim and black beading around the foot.

History Of Use

According to Sto:lo basket maker Wendy Ritchie the loopwork at the top of this basket was to allow for air ventilation. This basket was for storing something, probably herbs. The top would be covered with material, hide or leather.
