Face Painting Stamp Item Number: A2473 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Face painting stamp carved from one piece of wood with a plain handle, oval in cross-section. The stamp is of a hand with a concentric ovoid palm and four digits curved to one side and tapering to the ends, all carved into a flat surface. The reverse side of the stamp is plain and flat with sloping sides. A hole pierces through the back of the handle from side to side.

Used for stamping designs on faces for ceremonial occasions.
