Small, cylindrical basket (a) with flat, fitted lid (b); cedar flange attached around the upper rim of basket holds lid in place. Designs around sides of basket: four birds in blue-purple and compound band of blue-purple and yellow around the bottom edge. Lid of basket features concentric rings of blue-purple linear designs.

History Of Use

Traditionally, baskets were used for a variety of domestic purposes, but starting in the mid-19th century, most baskets were made as sale items to provide a source of cash income.
