Dish Item Number: Edz1403 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Amber coloured bowl of moulded, resinous material with a scaly dragon carved on the outer surface. The dragon is raised from the surface of the bowl. Crack on one side has been repaired.
The word amber means soul of the tiger. Amber is symbolic of courage and is also used as an aphrodisiac. The dragon is symbolic of divine power. A dragon carved on a dish gives its power to the contents and is sometimes used as a warning against gluttony.
