Description

Steep-sided bowl with a raised foot ring. Exterior is bronze coloured and interior is grey with dark blue decorations; decorations consist of a central flower and a ring around the rim; two dark blue Chinese characters on the base.

History Of Use

Such bowls were probably children’s rice bowls.

Narrative

This bowl was purchased from a shop that sold second-hand good and antiques in Macau. Mrs. Yau Chan, Shek-ying of Kwan Mun Hau Village, Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong, identified it as a child’s rice bowl.
