Description

Cross-shaped textile with geometric patterns in purple and a yellow diamond at center. Horizontal rows of stylized floral designs with vertical lines between on each panel, fringe at each end. Yellow line runs through one row on each panel. Same initials in purple on opposite ends: B.B. Ray; at other ends: 1914. Game is called Chopadh and is played by four.

Narrative

Collected by a family in India c. 1870; their collection of textiles was later purchased by Mr. North at the Universal Art Gallery in London, England.
