Description

A painted wood mask that has a red pointed brow and an open mouth in a figure eight showing ten black teeth with a bit of dark green above. Face is red. Has cut out oval eyes outlined by black surrounded by a bulging tapering red oval. Has a blue-black triangular nose. Top of the head has a horizontal black zig zag line.

Cultural Context

Usually made in pairs - one male, the other female. worn during the winter dance, they were often of a comical nature.
