Description

Amulet representing Tyet (the knot of Isis). It is in the abstracted form of a humanoid figure with a rounded head, and concentric upside-down u shapes representing the arms and torso with an isosceles trapezoid representing the legs. The figure has a rectangular block at the reverse that is pierced with a hole from side to side near the angled top. It is glazed blue.

History Of Use

Probably an amulet.

Iconographic Meaning

Represents the knot or girdle of Isis and by virtue of her blood placed the mummy under her protection. It is usually of red stone to represent the blood of Isis.
