Description

Adire cloth composed of three pieces of fabric sewn together to form a rectangular panel. Dyed dark blue with faint bands of geometric and abstract designs; finished with a border of small roughly circular bands at two ends.

Specific Techniques

The cloth is dyed by a starch-resist method called 'adire eleko'. The starch is stencilled, or painted free hand, on the cloth before dyeing.
