Description

Jacket, child's, with multi-coloured patchwork and appliqué trim, with machine and hand-stitched embroidery. The jacket has been enlarged at the centre back where two pieces of red fabric have been inserted to make it wider.

History Of Use

Worn by women and girls over a blouse and under a jacket. Very typical form of outer garment for the Pisac and Cuzco areas.

Narrative

Purchased from Professor J. Antonio Garnica Davila in Cuzco on June 14, 1978. Professor Davila taught history at the University of San Marcos in Cuzco.
