Sash for tying a woman's kimono. Length of slightly sheer peach-coloured fabric, folded and stitched along the edge and at ends
History Of Use
The koshi-himo is used to tie the kimono closed initially, before the obi is put on.
Narrative
Kimono set acquired by donor in 1970, while she was involved with missionaries in the village of Ueda; she wore the kimono for special cermemonies while residing in Japan.
