Description

Obi cord for a woman's kimono. Tight weave of silky pink threads has purple edging and loose tasseled ends.

History Of Use

The obi cord wraps around and ties at the front of the obi and is usually braided or sewn with tassled ends.

Narrative

Kimono set acquired by donor in 1970, while she was involved with missionaries in the village of Ueda; she wore the kimono for special cermemonies while residing in Japan.
