Description

Round coin with a four-sided hole in the centre, and a rim around the outer edge and the centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has four characters. Kangxi tongbao (top-bottom right left) in Chinese characters are on obverse; reverse is the same as the obverse. Centre hole is not square; file marks; line down the outer edge of the rim.

Normal size circulating coin. Made from 2 coins.

Narrative

Dated by Burger - Board of Revenue 1684, obverse one side, Fuzhou 1695 obverse other side. Two obverses cut off original coins, attached together. A line can be seen where they were joined. This piece purports to be a two-obverse, mismatched, mould issue.
