Dance Anklet Item Number: 1057/1 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Description
Deer hoof anklet with brown leather band and leather thongs. The two long thongs are attached to the band by two patches, which are sewn onto front edges. There are 20 slits a half a centimeter from the bottom of the band, which are threaded with thongs that are knotted through holes in deer hooves, creating a fringe, which is approximately 8 cm wide.
History Of Use
Would be worn on a dancer's ankle to make rattle noises during performance.
