Description

Large, long, carved wooden gong, cylindrical in shape with a rectangular protruding handle on the top end; bottom is rounded. The sides are carved in relief with a stylized geometric coil design with a band of diamonds running down the back and triangular detailing at the top. The top front of the handle has a carved face with narrow eyes, a long flat nose and a slightly protruding tongue; back end has triangular design. Drum is slit at top from one end to the other; covered with a thin layer of stain.
