Description

Clay pot (part a) with a grass ring stand (part b). The pot has a long narrow bottom with a bulbous middle that tapers into the neck that has a flared rim opening. On the side of the neck is a face decoration in relief with inset eyes surrounded by large, protruding cheek-like structures. Around the head is band of small ovals; below is a band of large, outlined ovals with many small ovals in the middle. The pot is covered in ochre while the face has traces of black pigment. The fibre ring (part b) consists of numerous pieces wrapped and knotted on the outside edge.
