Description

Woven blanket with blue jute warp and brown, white and gold wool weft. There is 7.5 cm of white un-spun fringe at each end. The background is white with brown and gold symmetrical geometric pattern. Horizontal bands at each end, horizontal "Greek key" design. Diamond and arrow pattern running vertically to a centre diamond shape.

Specific Techniques

The dyed blue fibre in this blanket is jute. It is used to make a stronger warp. The brown and white wool are hand spun natural colours. The gold wool is Lopi commercial wool yarn.
