Round, suare hole in centre, inner and outer rims on both sides, four Chinese characters on obverse, two characters on reverse; boo left in Manchu, fu right in Chinese on reverse, meaning Made in Fujian, but the right character also means happiness.

History Of Use

A coin-like charm, which could have circulated (Larson, David). Most likely used by the common people as ornaments for hanging and display on festive occasions such as New Year, the emperor's birthday, or the beginning of a new reign (Li, Min).
