Description

Round charm with a four-sided hole at the centre, and a rim around the outer edge and centre hole. One face has four Chinese characters. On the reverse are many characters in Sanskrit, around inner and outer rims.

History Of Use

Design similar to a coin, but too large to circulate; probably used for hanging or display (Larson, David). A hanging prayer amulet for general use or specifically in the context of child-rearing (Li, Min).
