Description
Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and a centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has four characters. Xianfeng zhongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in more relaxed style Chinese characters on obverse; boo je left-right (mintmark) in Manchu, dang shi top, bottom (value 10) in Chinese on reverse. Rim widths uneven; file marks; rim flaw reverse top-right; extra metal in centre hole.
History Of Use
Large size circulating coin, value 10 cash coins. Higher value, due to inflation and military payments during Taiping uprising.
