Rectangular strip of fabric consists of two layers of fabric (1 grey, 1 white), stitched together at the edges, turned, pressed and edgestitched. The white layer is pieced.
Used by the lace maker to hold down and protect the finished lace, or the unused part of the pattern. It is positioned over the lace on the pillow and held in place with pins.
