Kokeshi doll made from a piece of birch branch? Round painted head with back hair, red and black facial features, and has a painted landscape design with writing on the main body. The top and bottom portions of the body have bark on them.

History Of Use

Kokeshi are simple wooden Japanese dolls crafted as toys for children. Originally from the northeastern region of Japan, they are handmade from wood, having a simple, round trunk and head, without arms or legs. They have been in use for at least 150 years.
