Description
Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and a centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has two characters. Xianfeng tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in more relaxed style Chinese characters on obverse; boo fu left-right (mintmark) in Manchu, er shi top, bottom (two-ten=value 20) in Chinese on reverse. File marks; extra metal in centre hole; few pits.
History Of Use
Large size circulating coin, value 20 cash coins. Higher value, due to inflation and military payments during Taiping uprising.
