Description
Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and a centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has four characters. Xianfeng tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in more relaxed style Chinese characters on obverse; boo fu left-right (mintmark) in Manchu, yi shi top, bottom (one-ten=value 10) in Chinese on reverse. Pits in rims.
History Of Use
Large size circulating coin, value 10 cash coins. Higher value, due to inflation and military payments during Taiping uprising.
