Description
Round coin with a four-sided hole at the centre, and a rim around the outer edge and centre hole. One face has four Chinese characters, the other has five. Xianfeng zhongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in more relaxed style Chinese characters on obverse; boo cuwan left-right (mintmark) in Manchu; dang wushi top, bottom (value 50) in Chinese on reverse. Rim has file marks and some pitting.
History Of Use
Large size circulating coin, value 50 cash coins. Higher value, due to inflation and military payments during Taiping uprising.
