Boots Item Number: 1324/1 a-b from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Pair of women's fur boots. Band of ecru-coloured material trimmed with red cloth and covered with multicoloured floral embroidery around top of boot. Bottoms of boots made of bearded seal skin. Cord and skin ties attached at either side of the heel run across the front of the ankle.

Narrative

Donor had thought these were collected in the Kitimat area. The style was thought to be eastern Siberian?
