Description
Northwest Coast style raven drawn with grey, green and red pencil crayon; paper with image is glued to a larger piece of paper. Ink inscription above the image reads Mythical Raven from Legend of "The Fisherman and Raven" from print in A. P. Niblack "The Tribes of Alaska and the Northwest Coast of British Columbia" 1888.
Narrative
Created by a student at the Alberni Residential School in the late 1930s. The school was located near the Tseshaht reserve, Tsahaheh 1, about 4 kilometres north of Port Alberni.
