Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and the centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse is blank. Yongle tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in Chinese characters on obverse. Extra metal in centre rim; reverse almost smooth; centre hole slightly rounded; varnish pitted.
