Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and the centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has a nail mark. Yongle tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in Chinese characters on obverse; nail mark left rising to right on reverse. Rim widths not even; rim pits, flaws; varnish pitted; crack? bottom-right obverse.
