A light blue rectangular scarf. Fabric has a woven vertical stripe and stylized flower motif. Selvage on one edge and three sides hand hemmed. Pieced together.

History Of Use

Worn folded and placed around the base of the neck as a filler in the neckline of jacket 1343/3. Fastened with brooch 1343/8. Worn as part of a costume. Costumes like this one are still worn for weddings, funerals and church festivals. The colour of the scarf and apron varies with the occasion: white or cream for weddings; black for funerals; appropriate colours for church festivals.
