Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and a centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has two characters. Dazhong tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in Chinese characters on obverse; wu top (value 5), fu bottom (mintmark) in Chinese characters on reverse. Obverse inner rim narrow; pits in varnish surface; file and scratch marks.
