Description
Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and a centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has one character as well as a nail mark. Hongwu tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in Chinese characters on obverse; zhe top (mintmark), Chinese character on reverse. Nailmark bottom-right horizontal; rims uneven in width; rim pits, flaws.
History Of Use
Normal sized circulating coin. Issue of first Ming emperor.
