Description
Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and a centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has one character. Hongwu tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in Chinese characters on obverse; yi qian right (weight 1 mace) in Chinese characters on reverse. Rim pits; inner rim broken right; centre hole not square.
History Of Use
Normal sized circulating coin. Issue of first Ming emperor.
