Description
Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and a centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has one character at the top with a nail mark to the side. Zhengde tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in Chinese characters on obverse; zhe top (mintmark), Chinese character on reverse. Nailmark left-top, vertical on reverse; inner rim uneven; rim pits; file marks; extra metal at outer rims top-left, bottom-right.
History Of Use
Normal sized circulating coin. Issue of first Ming emperor.
