Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and a centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has one character. Hongwu tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in Chinese characters on obverse; fu bottom (mintmark), Chinese character on reverse. Extra metal on rim obverse top-left; extra metal inside centre hole; rim pits, flaws; file marks.
History Of Use
Normal sized circulating coin. Issue of first Ming emperor.
