Description

Red silk garment with an alternating horizontal pattern of peacocks and flowers embroidered in yellow, white, green, red and black. There is a border along one of the edges with flowers and birds of the same colours. The opposite edge has an additional piece of red fabric sew on. The back corner has a signature.

History Of Use

Material for a girl's festive skirt. Possibly Mochi, from the district of Kutch?

Said to have been collected by Col. R. E. Roome, in Old Delhi.
