Description

Long beaded strand with rectangular beaded panel at end. Strand is striped with yellow, white, and red beads. Rectangular panel has white, black, and yellow beads in the centre and is trimmed with red beads. There is a conical shaped bead on each end of the necklace. The end closest to the rectangular beaded panel has a fibre loop attached to the side that fits together with the conical bead on the opposite end to secure the necklace.

Iqabane (Zulu name) 'tab' necklace. Most likely Zulu origin; first half of 20th century.
