Print block, with handle. A large rectangular press wood block with the Buddha of Long Life, sitting on petals and surrounded by halos, plants and clouds.

History Of Use

Tibetan style woodblock, for printing on textiles or paper. With handle, for traditional storage on shelves.

Iconographic Meaning

The carving depicts Amitāyus, the Buddha of Long Life. He is shown in Nirmāṇakāya state, holding a long-life nectar vase in his lap with both hands, sitting in full-lotus posture, surrounded by halos, plants and clouds.
