Description

Rectangular bag with two bottom flaps on each side and a long thin red and yellow strap attached to both sides of the opening at the top. Bag has series of vertical columns that consist of red, yellow, orange, green, and pink diamond patterns on a natural background. Sides are lined with tight stitching in red, golden yellow, and green.

Narrative

Rosita Tovell's father was a collector of Peruvian pre-Columbian ceramics. Rosita moved to Peru in the early 1960s, while her husband served as ambassador to Peru and Bolivia. During this time Rosita began to study and collect pre-Columbian Peruvian ceramics and textiles.
