Description

A tiny fabric doll with a light blue skirt. Green and white geometric patterned fabric is wrapped around the upper half of the body and the white face without facial features. The doll is holding a baby wrapped around in the same green and white geometric patterned fabric around it and its white face without facial features. There is a green and white geometric patterned fabric belt wrapped around the waist.

Specific Techniques

The donor recalled that students, having nothing else to make their dolls from, used scraps of paper and fibre, sticking the edges together with saliva.

Narrative

This doll was collected by the donor while she was teaching at the Morley residential school.
