Description

Belt and under-belt joined together. The stiff inner belt decorated with a brown and beige meander pattern. The outer belt has a chevron design in brown, pink, purple and yellow. There is a narrow woven tie joined to the braided fringe.

Narrative

Worn by women around the waist over the almilla and akeu. It is wound continuously around the waist, starting with the stiff underbelt and finishing with the narrow "trensa" or tie which is finally tucked under the belt to secure it.
